Typeface Design

The Concept I designed this typeface in graduate school. My influence was the human body, minimalism, and the bold use of type during Dadaism. We had to create a secondary family, so I decided to create a stencil version as a sort of nod to the anti-establishment movement of Dada.

The Typeface I designed Moshka to be used boldly and in large point sizes. The letterforms themselves, I wanted them to work individually and collectively. The strong curves are allusions to the curves of shoulders and major joints. The stems, legs, arms, etc are proportional to major appendages, and kept simple for the minimalistic aspect.

Conclusion Moshka is a typeface for bold, unique usage. I like to pair it with abtract illustrations and full, deep colors. It's great for large headlines, t-shirts and posters. Don't forget to download Moshka for your projects.
